Local clothing-maker & pattern-maker extraordinaire Cal Patch
has another sewing workshop series at RosenSpace this month, just in time for those warmer Spring days: Learn how to design and make your own skirt!
This class is a great fit for those who already have a few simple projects under their belt and are comfortable with their sewing machine.
Make Your Own Skirt
Thursdays: May 25, June 1, (skips 6/8), 15 + 22 (6-8 pm)
Four 2-hour classes, $160
In this 4-week class, you will learn how to draft a pattern for an A-line skirt, based on your very own measurements. Then you will cut it out and sew it up! New skills you will acquire are: measuring properly, pattern drafting, making and fitting a muslin, invisible zippers, darts, french seams, and bias-tape facings.
NOTE: Students must bring their own machine to class. Some homework will likely be necessary in order to complete the project.

Mark your calendars, pottery-lovers! There will be a special one-day MOTHER’S DAY POTTERY SALE at RosenSpace, featuring work by local ceramic artists, on Saturday, April 29th from 10-6pm. Free admission; cash payments preferred.
Functional work such as mugs, plates, bowls and vases will be available.
Participating artists will include: Susan DePaulis, Cheyenne Mallo, Rachel Dubicki, Susan Siegrist, Lora Shelley, Terri Ritter and Karin Smith-Spanier.
We’ve already sprung forward to Daylight Savings Time… our Knitting Circle is “springing forward” it’s starting time, too! It will now run EVERY FIRST SUNDAY, FROM 2-6 PM.
Head on over to RosenSpace this Sunday, April 2nd and join fellow knittistas (and crocheters !) as we work and chat our way through our various projects, big or small. All skill levels welcome 🙂
And of course, in the spirit of Spring Cleaning – we welcome you to join our STASH SWAP! Bring in those skeins you just haven’t managed to finish off and trade them in for some that might better fit your current project(s). Or simply leave them for others to enjoy.

Beginner Sewing Series: Design Your Own Tote
March 16th, 23rd, 30th + April 6th (Thursdays, 6-8 pm)
Four 2-hour classes, $160
In this beginner-level class, you’ll learn how to sew and make a useful tote bag with a lining and pockets. You’ll be the designer and determine the dimensions of every part of the bag, as well as the style and placement of pockets and straps. We will cover how to use the machine, sewing seams, topstitching, patch pockets, boxed corners and 4-ply straps.
